The recall has been issued on select Ford F,
Bronco SUVs, some of which are already in the hands of the customers and some are waiting to be delivered.
The recall pertains to 2023 Bronco Wildtrak and 2022 Bronco Raptor models, and the problem involves a steering-gear part that may crack and affect the driver's ability to turn the steering wheel. A report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA),
The report states that “there are no reports of accidents or injuries associated with this concern.” The report states that a total of 343 vehicles are affected by the recall.
In a statement provided to Marketwatch, Ford said: “On March 3, we proactively reached out to 58 affected customers and informed them No to drive their vehicles, and provided them with the option of a loan vehicle. another ~280 [vehicles] are at the dealership or at our plant and will be repaired before reaching the hands of the customers.
Ford said most of the 58 affected customers “are now on loaner vehicles and getting their vehicles fixed as we speak.”
The Ford Bronco series continues to be extremely popular. Ford to deliver 97,315 Bronco SUVs to customers in 2022 Fox News reportwho noted that the number sold “could have been higher if not for production constraints.”
