“Sesame Avenue” co-creator Lloyd Morrisett has died at age 93, Sesame Workshop introduced Monday.
“Lloyd leaves an outsized and indelible legacy amongst generations of kids the world over, with ‘Sesame Avenue’ solely essentially the most seen tribute to a lifetime of fine work and lasting impression,” Sesame Workshop tweeted.
“Sesame Avenue” was created by Morrisett, a psychologist who was vice chairman of the Carnegie Basis for the Development of Instructing, and tv producer Joan Ganz Cooney. They introduced on Jim Henson and his Muppets to assist carry the present to life. The primary episode ran on November 10, 1969.
Morrisett was a co-founder of Youngsters’s Tv Workshop, now known as Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit group behind “Sesame Avenue,” and served as its chairman of the board of trustees for greater than 30 years earlier than changing into a Lifetime Honorary Trustee, in keeping with the Workshop.
